Wow weird...so it must have been one of those 2 things i changed in my code...an </a> was accidentlly an <a> and a <br> that should have been a <br />
but cant understand why that would ahve stopped stuff like the login module working
makes no sense at all
at least not to me
anyway thanks a load for your willingness to help kat will change topic to solved
