Kunena sees me as "guest" even though I am logged into Jooml

I was hoping that users would only have to log into their normal Joomla account and would not have to create yet another account for Kunena but it sees me as 'guest" even though I am logged into Joomla already. Is there a way that Joomla can securely pass user info to Kunena so that users can use the forum with their Joomla login?

This is really not a question of RocketTheme and is a Kunena question, but Kunena uses users from Joomla. See the following thread at Kunena's Forum that might help.

Thank you for your time Bill. I read that post and it said that Kunena is not responsible for user registration and that it indeed users the Joomla registered users. I clicked on the "register" link and to my delight it took me to my main Joomla registration page exactly as I had hoped.
I guess I just thought that the login/pass/register fields at the top would not appear if a user was already logged in. I have seen many forum apps and most will replace the login/register links with logout in you are a logged in user. That is what had me confused. I definitely think that it would be more user friendly to do it that way so I think I will drop the folks at Kunena a note in their suggestion box

Well I may have spoken too soon. Even though I am logged in as Administrator, when I try to create a topic in Kunena forum, I get:
Only community members can participate in this forum. You must register or log in to contribute.
The problem is that I AM logged in. could this be because I am logged in as Admin as opposed to another user name that is not forbidden?

Well I logged off as the admin and logged back in as a user in Joomla and I still get:
Only community members can participate in this forum. You must register or log in to contribute.
Am I missing something?

- Corey, in the Kunena User Manager, are the users enabled and Banned set to off "allowing access".
