1.5 extensions will need at least minor changes to work in 1.7, generally speaking. Because of the updates in 1.7, your 1.5 extension will be looking for parameters in API's that don't exist anymore. An example would be the way Categories are now handled (no more Sections). Not to mention the they are not going to install without updating the .XML file.

Some extensions may only take small change to be compatible (as I mentioned before). However, the problem is being familiar enough with it to know what to update. - B

- I am trying to get this component to work with my Joomla 1.7 website. I will let you know if I am successful. I hope Rocket will get this done before I do though. This seems to be a lot of work and API studies.
