Silent Support

    • It's now been 3 weeks since I asked for support about 2 key issues:-
      - Omnicron Jom 1.7/Jomsocial broken
      - ExtendedLink Strings missing in Joomla 1.7 templates

Various people have said they would look into it but I havn't received any answers. What I need is a possible timescale when these maybe looked into and fixed.

I assume most people using these templates have deadlines to meet or clients to update. Currently I'm in a situation where I don't know if I should scrap using Omnicron alltogether and get on with building with a different template or hold on for some fixes.

Please, it's vital to our projects to be informed, this situation is worse than having no template at all.

Do RocketTheme offer support? I wouldn't mind paying extra for it.

please please can I get some feedback

    • Hi there,
I have spoken to the lead developer on this issue and it seems that the extended links were intentionally left out of roknavmnu for j1.7 for the time being. It may be a feature again in the future, but currently there are no plans for it.
Additionally, Omnicron portion of your issue should be fixed in the most recent version.

    • Hi Stephanie,

I'm getting a few mixed messages from RT support

I've been told that the extended links have been fixed in the roknavmenu and will be in the next release, which I have been led to believe will be any day. Is this not the case?

Also my Omnicron/Joomla 1.7/JomSocial issue is with the latest version and it's that which doesn't work.

      Please can you clarify

      Thanks

    • I'm not sure, do you know who said it would be fixed? Maybe there was some confusion; extended links should be working in the 1.5 version, but are not available in the 1.7 version.

Another consideration is that while some individuals do search as best they can for a solution we do have many that don't bother. For some members it easier to keep asking a stream of questions than to work things out for themselves. Almost getting the mod team to build a website by proxy!

You should deal with those customers on an individual basis and not penalize the rest. To direct paying customers to a support "forum" and then ignore questions is not good business sense. I'm working with Tachyon for Joomla and phpBB and I've got a laundry list of bugs that need fixing. I suppose you'll accuse me of asking you to build my website!

We have no problem helping people with bugs :cheesy:

What I was referring to was people who want to change the template to suit their own needs. This is more along the lines of customisation and isn't really covered by support, although we do try and assist as many people as we can. 8)

I did a quick check of your posts to see this "laundry list" of bugs and found only one post outstanding. This had been knocked out of the moderators' list of unanswered posts as you replied to your own post instead of editing the original to add the extra information.

I hope this clarifies the situation for you. 8)
