Default Browser Issue? Cookies or 301 problem

I am stuck on either a cookie problem or a 301 redirect problem, I don't know which.
tyjos.com was built in the subdomain tyjos.vpgraphix.com . I wanted to mask the subdomain, tried to add 301 redirect from Cpanel but that caused a faulty loop. Hostgator advised me that the solution to this was within the Magento software.
In configuration>web I updated unsecure and secure web url to tyjos.com . Both were showing as the subdomain.
As a result, I cannot access tyjos.com/admin nor tyjos.vpgraphix.com/admin through my default web browser, Firefox. However, I can access admin from Internet Explorer and Chrome.
Web owner emailed last night saying she was unable to access admin from Chrome, her default web browser - takes you to the sign in page but once you login, it redirets back to homepage. I am still able to access admin through Chrome and IE.
Can anyone provide some insight?
