Happy to be back in the states and an active subscriber again. :cheesy:
I've been developing Joomla! for a couple years now and had a span of time where I wasn't developing and working with Joomla. I have stuck with 1.5, and have still been using it because I have quite a few components/extensions that I had paid for, that I still like to take advantage of. I know there are newer updates etc., but many of them are fine as is and a newer version isn't necessary.
I was about to begin work on a new site and was wondering if 1.7 is worth switching to right away despite the fact I may need to resubscribe for some updated exts and comps.? A lot of options are still around for 1.5, so I wonder if a lot of people are still using it or sticking with it.
-If I decided to stay with 1.5 and I decided I wanted to upgrade a site to 1.7, is it a hassle that could cause a few problems, or is the update process pretty clean?
If you have any more knowledge regarding the current status of 1.5 and 1.7, feel free to enlighten me.

Hi it's strongly recommend to migrate to 1.7, in addition in February version 2.5 will be lunch.. you should take a look on the joomla.org for latest updates. Usually when a new released its lunched it to solve bug and issues, but mainly for security purposes.
