Does anyone know of a way or an extension that notifies the admin when a user changes their profile details in Joomla 1.7 please? I would have expected it to be an obvious need for any site admins? The Joomla Forum is littered with unanswered posts asking for this feature.

I am open. CB/Jomsocial not yet installed. The client just "wants" this feature, is prepared to pay for it and I am at a dead end!

Well, as far as I know, there exists joomla plugin for CB that provides this feature. I think that there exists only version for Joomla 1.5

In my opinion you are in minority because I personally can't think of any situation in which I would like (as web site owner) to know when any of my members changes his profile details.
Just imagine a web site with few thousand members and number of emails you would receive because of a such notification - Check my services at: Mihha-Vision

- I understand that and agree. Thing is they will have about 500 members as it is a local sailing club and most will be paying a subscription. An Admin User of my client has requested this saying he is prepared to pay for it I guess so he can chase up users who are late paying. Perhaps I can suggest an alternative to him, question is: What? :frown:

Ok. Now we are getting somewhere.
If you use membership extensions such as
extensions.joomla.org/extensions/e-comme...-subscriptions/10723
you can easily see sort out members which didn't pay their membership.
Other than that, my only suggestion is to use sites like Freelancer for example and try to find a developer who will create plugin that will meet your requirements - Check my services at: Mihha-Vision
