Mission Control Update Error

  • Mission Control Update Error

    • I did not see a section for the Admin template Mission Control...

When I tried to update it in Joomla 2.5 I got this message:

      Unknown Archive type
      Update path does not exist
JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find Joomla XML setup file
      Unable to detect manifest file

      Can you help?

      Tim

    • Hi
and welcome to the forums :)
Try installing Mission Control (old school method) via the Extension Manager. Use the Install/Update Package dialog to install it.

    • Thanks for your response!

That worked for one site (although there are now duplicate copies of mission control and both are selected as default)

On another site however I uploaded the newer version but it still says that there is a new version available and when I follow the link to upgrade through the Joomla interface I get an error.

It keeps making more and more copies which I can't delete.

How can I delete them and install a new template?

      Best, Tim

I've created a ticket for the dev team to have a look at this.
In the interim start PhpMyadmin and search your DB for "rt_missioncontrol"
You should find the real and duplicates in the jml25_extensions table. Hopefully only one will have in the "custom_data" field "{"last_update":.........."
      Delete the other ones.

    • Wouldn't it be easier to delete the template and re-install a new one? It is not letting me do that though.

When I did that I still got duplicate results, give it a try though.

    • I am only chiming in here. After attempting to upgrade to Mission Control 2.4 I also ended up with multiple admin templates all selected as default. I cannot delete them. I have cleared cache, fixed permissions and changed to various default Admin templates and am still having the same problem. I am running this locally on my Mac in a test environment.

      Check 4 posts up :arrowu:
You can do it through PhpMyAdmin.

I just installed Reflex on a J2.5.1 core on my WAMP server and then installed Mission Control 2.4 and had NO duplicates in the Template Manager screen.

    • I went to PHPMyAdmin and in under template_styles I found one entry for rt_missioncontrol. I'm not sure what to do though I am not an expert in PHPMyAdmin...

Can I delete that table and then re-install?
