SOLVED A Random "1"

I just recently migrated my Joomla 1.5 to 2.5 which is running the Ionosphere template.
For some reason unbeknownst to me, there is the numeral "1" on my featured article.

The version of Ionosphere on Joomla 1.5 does not have this "1".

I am unable to determine why this character is there... when viewing the page source i see:

As you can see above, there is the "1" highlighted...*(Note:Highlight is mine)
Anyone have any idea what could be going on?
