    Login Module Not Working

Posted 13 years 1 week ago
    • Hi All. I cannot get the login module to work on my site, I cannot get the registration to work on my site wither. I have user registration enabled. When I make an attempt to login or register after clicking the button the page just refreshes. I am using joomla 2.5

    • What happens if you disable SEF URLs?

    • If I disable SEF URLs it messes up the formatting of the entire site. Renders the top half of the website useless. I had to re-enable. Also, I have captchas turned off in the global config and the re-captcha plugin disabled. However, when you click create an account the captcha field is still displayed, but is blank. This also appears at the top of the page: Captcha plugin not set or not found. Please contact a site administrator

    • If your site gets messed up when you disable sef urls, I would say that you have some real issue with your server setup. Try to fix your file and folder permissions on the entire site. Also, try to disable all kind of gzip and caching you have enabled right now

    • I have disabled all cache settings and GZIP with same results. I can manually create a user in user manager and it will send the notification email to the new user registered email address. When I go back to login it fails.

As for fixing file and folder permissions I wouldn't know where to look or start.

    • Also, did you by any chance noticed system message at the top of the registration page which says: "Captcha plugin not set or not found. Please contact a site administrator"?

      Try to publish captcha plugin

This is what I have at the top. This is displayed regardless if the plugin is enabled/disabled. Alos I only have one captcha plugin and it is titled: Captcha - ReCaptcha

I will try the admin tools extension.

    • Well, it is normal that your registration page just reloads since your recaptcha is not working correctly. You will have to deal with this issue and I strongly suggest you to post a question on Joomla official forum regarding this
