System Message Modal Box Colours ?

Hi,
could somebody please tell me what governs the colours of text and box for system messages modal box.
This is Maelstrom template
When somebody registers a system message comes up to say it has sent an activation email, however the text is so weak that nobody can read it.

If anybody could solve this I would be very grateful, we are a children's charity and resources are in short supply
I would also like to thank Rockettheme for allowing non profit making organizations to use their templates for free
