    Ironic Support

Posted 12 years 9 months ago
    • I opened a thread in the nebulae forum over 72 hours ago and nary a response. There are a sum total of 3 views on there (all mine). I'm just trying to find out if something that worked in 1.5 with this template is supposed to work in 2.5 because it doesn't.

      Thread - http://www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?f=498&t=172634&rb_v=viewtopic

However, since no mods feel the need to even open the thread, I guess I'll never get the answer. The reason why I titled this thread as ironic is because there was another thread in the Nebulae forum that was for a joomla.org type question and 2 mods were able to jump right in and answer the op. The first mod gave the wrong answer and the second mod followed in right behind to correct the first.

So here's my dilemma - I'm a small, freelance website implementer who has been a RT member since 2008. I have a total of 7 sites running Joomla and 3 are npo's. I keep my RT subscription current so I can keep the sites updated, for support and on the off chance that someone might actually want to pay me to do a website for them.

So, do I pay the 75.00, 2 hour special support fee to find out the answer is:

a.) No. Just because something worked in 1.5 don't assume it works in 2.5

      or

b.) Javascript is as much a mystery to us as is electricity, the tide going in and out and why is the earth round when it sure looks flat to me.

Finally, I don't need to be directed to this thread:

      www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?f=50...30377&rb_v=viewtopic

      Because the answer isn't there.

    • Hi there,

As the moderators are spread across different time zones we do try to provide prompt and effective support. We recognise that there are occassions when posts get overlooked so we use a list of unanswered posts to try and capture as many as possible. As you can imagine, immediately after a new release there are quite a few posts so it can take a while to get caught up.

Joomla 2.5 does behave differently in quite a few ways but I cannot say if this is one of those differences.

Can you PM me with a temporary Super Admin access for both sites please and I will take a look to see what the cause may be. Please include the link to this post for ease of reference.

      Thanks :)

    • Hi Meom,

Still not received PM. Can you confirm it is still showing in your Outbox please? PMs stay in outbox until recipient has read it.

      Regards

    • David,

I don't know why it won't send and I now have 2 messages in my outbox addressed to you.

Also, MrT looked at it from the Nebulae forum thread and said he is stumped and sent it over to the Dev team.

    • Hi meom,

I have the PM now plus the deletion :cheesy:

I concur with Mark - no obvious logic unless Joomla have changed some code and caused there to be no positions viewable by the script.

      Thanks for your patience 8)

    • This issue has been solved and marked as such in the Nebulae forum. Yay. Now I have to get back to work upgrading the rest of the site.
