I'd like to post some content similar to the elemental template.
You'll see in the demo , that the home page has a dear watson article.
and in that article is a link... which takes you to a new page of content.
(not the readmore button type)
I like this method,
My question,
How can a person find the link of cat. content, or static content that you already created, but not assigned to a menu.
then use that link in a frontpage article, that links you to a new page on its own.

Get the ID# of the Content Item.
If the ID# is "38" then the URL is www.mydomain.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=38
