    • Hi,

I want to know how did you made that effect that is in that header with social menu ?
Show the description in a smooth effect.

Dont't know if it's the same effect but I've searched before posting in here, and found out that the effect was made by using mootools. But how exactly the effect was made ?

Thanks in adv (sorry for posting in here, couldn't find a specific section)

    • Yeah, that's done with magic hands of Mr. Djamil Legato, one of the core developers of MooTools JavaScript framework. The way it works is, you have to listen to mouseover event for the icons, fade in the box with the info and then track the mouse movement and move the box relative to that.
Nettuts has a tutorial on this but uses jQuery, you can read it to learn more about the implementation: net.tutsplus.com/articles/news/you-still...ate-a-jquery-plugin/

Consider using the custom stylesheet for all your CSS customizations: gantry-framework.org/documentation/wordp...custom_stylesheet.md .

    • Thanks for the info!

So you wouldn't share the actual code to make the effect ?
I have zero programming skills. The only programming i know is HTML and CSS.

Which mootools should i install, with or without compatibility ?

    • Sorry, can't help you there I'm afraid, I'm a novice in MooTools landscape, but you can dig into the source codes, see if you can find it.
You can try and search for a MooTools tooltip plugin, try them out see if they have the effect you're after.

      Well, thanks anyway.

      [edit]
Don't know if i would be able to replicate the same effect since i don't know nothing about mootools or Jquery. Do you know if theres an extension that has almost the same effect ?

      thanks once again.

I looked around the web and came across this: demos111.mootools.net/Tips , it has the same effect and it seems easy enough to setup. :cheesy:

      Thanks for the reply!
