Photographers site: Rokzoom?

    • I really like Rokzoom, but I'm trying to see if I can make it work for a photographer's site who will be hosting hundreds of images. I also would like the images to have meta info that's searchable within Joomla.

A Wordpress gallery plugin I really like is Nextgen . It's really functional, very easy to administer, and it would probably work with Rokzoom. But, it's Wordpress. Is there anything that comes close with Joomla?

    • If I were making a photography site, I'd probably use monoslideshow...it's just so slick.

RokZoom is okay but lacks the polish that you get with Flash, and it's a little bit flaky for heavy image use IMO.

    • Thanks, Dan. I've used Monoslideshow, and I agree it's very presentable. But, it's just not a self-contained solution. Users have to manually create gallery folders, and then muck around XML files to configure - very complicated for noobs. Monoslideshow also doesn't contain metainfo and is not searchable. Keep in mind that we want to host hundreds of images.

I've used the Gallery2 bridge, and it's not bad. However, it makes SEO more difficult, and maybe overkill in terms of features. And I really like the Rokzoom effect (can I use this in Gallery2?).

      Any other suggestions?

    • I hadn't looked closely at Expose, but I'm checking it out right now - looks very promising. I really like the album manager. This may work...

      Thanks, again, Dan.

    • Thanks, Micha. Now I'm considering Slideshow pro. It's $50 with the Director, but a very slick backend, and more customizable frontend.

Any others, just to further complicate my decision?
