Create New Buttons Not Working?

I recently installed joomla using the elemental theme. I had installed this on a different domain originally with little problem, but then switched to a different domain. There are two things which I notice are an issue now on this new domain.
1, the New buttons in my Static Content Manager and New Content sections DO NOT work. I click on them and they don't respond.
2, I notice that I no longer have the text link main menu up top in any of the sections as I did before. Unless the interface was changed I don't know whats going on.
Are these indicators that my install went wrong, maybe a file or two didn't get uploaded? Any advice or pointers in the right direction would help! Thanks.
