    RocketLauncher Install Issue

Posted 12 years 2 months ago
    • Hi all,
I am using Momentum on Joomla 2.5, Gantry 3.2.22. When I installed Momentum I opted not to install the demo info - stupid mistake because I wanted my home page to look like the demo site. I understand now that Rocket Launcher is what gives me those home page modules and it is in that demo portion of the install. I have re-installed both Momentum templates, the 10.8 J2.5 bundle and the J2.5 standalone and I have not been prompted again to install the demo data, and it is not showing, and is not in the files. I never un-installed Gantry, but not even sure if I need to...Can someone tell me how to get RocketLauncher installed so I can get my site to look like the demo? Would so appreciate it, worried to start pulling out more installs like Gantry without checking in...

    • Looks like you've done a lot of work already.

      Option one:

      a) Create a new directory in your www folder or public_html and call it test.
      b) download the rocketlauncher for the template
      c) upload the rocket launcher zip to your test folder
      d) extract the rocket launcher
      e) create new database, name it something as to not get conused, and perhaps a new user
go to www.yourdomain.com/test and the install prompt will load. I am pretty sure the rocket launcher wont ask you to load content, it will just do it, but be careful and check all the screens. If it ask, install demo content

Now you can browse the individual modules and articles to see what settings you are missing and download the images to see all the proper sizes.

      Second Option

      a) delete what you have already and follow the steps above to install the rocket launcher on your root domain.

I would go with option 1 as your install will be much cleaner and you will have a lot less to delete.

As a side note and for future reference, you should post these questions in the specific template forum you are working on. They will be able to help you better there.

    • Thanks so much. I cannot for the life of me find the RocketLauncher files. I just looked thru every one of the folders in the Momentum download files and I cannot find them. Unless they are packed in with the Gantry files and not named RocketLauncher - seems odd to me but some of those files look like they COULD contain the home page modules just based on the image names. Does anyone know where I can find the RocketLauncher files? moneysflow, I'm new here, do you think I should re-post in the Momentum section or just stay here b/c I've already posted?

    • I am not sure I entirely understand what you're asking. As far as I know you can't just upload rocket launcher files to your current site to get your desired results in having your site look like the rocket launcher.

You installed the template and joomla with no demo content, which is a good way to do it to keep things clean. But now you will have to manual change all the settings, find photo sizes and make images the proper size etc etc.

You can do that much easier by installing the rocket launcher in full and browsing the backend admin panel while working on your current site.

Or as previously stated you can delete your current site, start from scratch by installing the rocket launcher in full and going from there.

I can see the rocketlauncher on the downloads page no problem...you just have to scroll down...It's closer to the bottom.

www.rockettheme.com/joomla-downloads/club/2412-momentum thats the link I used to find it.

A moderator may move this when they see it, so you may not have to start another thread. If you don't get resolve from my suggestions and they haven't seen it yet; I would rename the first part of this post to closed by editing your first post and re-post another thread in the specific template forum you are working on.

      Good Luck!
