I am wondering if there is a list of standard rocket theme formatting css classes
for instance rt-image, or rt-left with a brief description of what they do?

There should be! I don't know about others, but I find it a real hassle to try and figure out how to format various aspects of an article or item - particularly when it comes to formatting things such as an image insert.
rt-image, rt-floatleft, rt-floatright etc etc - it can be quite a pain to try and work out how it all works or what does what when specifying different "classes" to try and make your formatting work within the site. A simple guide in each template similar to the typography & module variations would be very handy!
Just an idea. I am sure there are others who are not .css experts who would benefit greatly from such a simple guide..
