    • hi andy!
is it necessary to go to 2.5.10?
could it be better to take the 3.x experience?
      ?

      ?

3.x is a STS release. Moving to this is not a trivial decision. We've found it to be quite stable, but you should definitely upgrade all your extensions first for 2.5.x, then upgrade to 3.x (by changing your Joomla updater to STS releases).

If you do this, MAKE SURE YOU DO IT ON A TEST/STAGING SERVER FIRST!!!! I can't stress this enough. Moving from 2.5 to 3.x is not as painful as it was moving from 1.5 to 1.6, but it still will, in all likelihood, not be as smooth as you hope. Especially if you use 3rd party extensions, that may or may not have 100% Joomla 3.x compatibility.

Screenshots are useless. Blank page and 2 lines of warning (if reporting enabled) as mentioned earlier.

I'm afraid blank page does us no good at all in trying to work out what's going on.

Step 1) Install the latest 2.0.2 of RokNavMenu. If error still persists try step 2.
Step 2) Turn your error_reporting back on
Step 3) Check any php and apache error logs on your server to see if anything unusual is showing up there, past the pertinent parts of those errors in this thread.

I install the "Mission Control Template" and can go back to the 2.5.9 release with no problems!
Maybe this info can help you for the moment.

    • Hi Juanlu, I have a similar problem, although not in roknavmenu, but it Yootheme Zoo and I got the error "JPath::clean: $path is not a string.".

How did you downgraded to Joomla 2.5.9?

      Thanks
      Luciano

    • I did the mission control installation before i pushed the button.
Maybe its possible that there is no return for you.
      This could explain it.

      Andy could say something about???

    • MissionControl is just an admin template, it is not going to make any difference to upgrading or downgrading Joomla. To downgrade you should just restore a backup of your state before you upgraded (of course you made a backup :)

I really don't think downgrading is the solution. You need to find out what is causing the error. If you have upgraded RokNavMenu to 2.0.2, then you have some other extension causing the error. You really need to turn on the errors and find out what the error is that's causing it. That really is the only solution going forward. You don't want to run on an older 'vulnerable' version of Joomla, your just asking for trouble.

Luciano made mention of Zoo also having a similar error with 2.5.10, i'm sure there are many others out there too. This is not a problem unique to RocketTheme. The Joomla team made a 'fix' that effectively changes the prior behavior of a function.
