Image grid with transitions

Hi there,
I was wondering if I could pick the brains of the more experienced Joomla/web users.
I have been asked to create a grid of 4 images on the front page of the website that transitions with random images (possibly even including a tab)- please see link.
My initial thought was to use rokgallery and have it as a slide show - putting them side by side. That obviously didn't work. What I want is the Rokgallery grid but for the images to roll over to different images like the slideshow. Does anyone have any ideas? Or recommend a plugin? I have searched the web for modules to use and I cant find one that will work how I want it.
