"Installing..." step gets stuck - HELP please!

  • "Installing..." step gets stuck - HELP please!

Posted 12 years 21 hours ago
    • I'm hosting locally on my Mac via MAMP. I downloaded the Rocket Launcher all-in-one with Joomla 3.1 and the template. I put the unzipped file I downloaded into the "htdocs" folder and started the installation process. Everything seems to go fine, but once it says "installing" NOTHING happens. I've tried it several times, shut everything down and rebooted and I'm getting very frustrated. Please help!!

    • Do you have any trouble installing the default version of Joomla? The version downloaded from Joomla.org - not the Rocket Launcher.

Just asking because if you have the same problem with that, that would indicate something wrong with your setup or process. Unfortunately, we can't see or access your local server so there isn't much we can do other than guess.

If you are having issues with installing Joomla in general, I would image there are 100's of threads Joomla site and tutorials on the web covering all the steps you need to take. If you're having an issue, most likely many other have experienced it as well.

    • I can't get the default versions of Joomla to install correctly either. I've tried 2.5 and 3.1. I've done it several times in the past. I got a new Mac and wonder if it's something in OS x.8 giving me trouble?

      Thank you for responding! :)

    • I would check the Joomla forums or the MAMP. I can't say what it is, I use OS 10.8 and do not have any issues. My best guess would be permissions are not set correctly.
