URL Rewrite + 500 Internal Error

To whom it may concern;
I switched my htaccess.txt to .htaccess and toggled the global settings from URL rewrite on.
Every time i go to any of my menu items i get a 500 internal server error.
Am i missing something? Thank you

Hi there,
You may have to ask your host if there are any unusual settings on your server that may be causing the problem.
They can also look at the server logs to see what has caused the problem.
