    RocketLauncher Problem

Posted 17 years 6 months ago
    • I am using the RocketLauncher for the Vortex template.

I set up the database. I went to www.mysite.com & clicked on the Begin Install button. I click Next on the License screen. I entered the MySQL database name, username, password etc... in the next screen & clicked Next. I got the warnings register_globals setting is ON & RG_EMULATION setting is On instead of Off in globals.php which I ignored for now & clicked Next. After a few minutes a pop up window appears that says You have chosen to open install2.php which is a php script what should Firefox do with this file? If I click Open with firefox the same window pops up again. I can never get to the Step 2 of the install.

If I browse to www.mysite.com I get the RocketLauncher welcome page again & go through the same process but never get to step 2.

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

    • I tried deleting all the files & re ftping them but I get the same problem on two different computers.

      Does anyone have any suggestions?

I had the Vortex template installed previously with no problems except I couldn't get the tabs feature to display correctly so I deleted the installation because someone said the RocketLauncher version would have all the template files already properly adjusted to work with the tabs feature. Only I can't get the RocketLauncher installation past Step 1. :'(

Can anyone help me with this problem?

      Thanks,
      Yaani-Mai

    • Well, I finally found the problem. I deleted the database & recreated a new one & the installation went on to Step 2 with no problems. I am not familiar with mysql & tried deleting the tables when I deleted the original installation before I attempted the RocketLauncher installation & I must have done something wrong but it looks like RocketLauncher is working fine now, It was just a database/user problem! ::)

      Thanks,
      Yaani-Mai :)
