Can't override <span> or <blockquote>

Rocketthemes makes it really, really difficult to override <span> and <blockquote>. Even using inline <style></style> and !important, and it still can't be overwritten, using the Panacea theme.
Using inline styles (is this 1999 or something?) and the basic example below:
blockquote.style3 {
font: 18px/30px normal Tahoma, sans-serif;
padding-top: 22px;
margin: 5px;
background-image: url(images/openquote3.gif);
background-position: top left;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
text-indent: 65px;
}
blockquote.style3 span {
display: block;
background-image: url(images/closequote3.gif);
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-position: bottom right;
}
Simply does not work. Only the right image is rendered, the left one not so much. Should I upgrade? I do have newer themes from Rocket, but somehow I think the issue would be even worse.
It's also absolutely ridiculous that this forum is the only so-called 'support' offered, especially for a paid product. Can't even do email support?

Probably your css specificity is still not right.
Anyway ... you have to understand that we can only provide support for members with an active membership. We have dedicated Forums for each template but only members with an active membership have access.
