Ximenia Menu & Showcase Error IE9

    • Hi,

My client has described an issue when viewing their site with IE9. Both the top menu and showcase features do not display correctly. They have sent me a screen shot (attached).

I have tested it with FF and Chrome and have no issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    • Your site has been hacked and has malicious code injected into. Clean the site - I have removed the link in your post to protect members.

... that is the reason your site is wrong.

      Regards, Mark.

    • Hey Mark, thanks for the reply. Excuse my ignorance, but how do I clean the site?

Appreciate any help you can offer.

    • Well, first of all I'd suggest you'd try and find a backup of your site before it got hacked (I hope you take daily backups). If that's not possible ask your host to assist you with virus scans on your site. Failing that the only other course of action is to manually look at the dates on the files in your site and see if you can spot the one that has been tampered with (be warned though it is labour intensive).

One other thing my colleague @henning suggested to to look through the server logs for POST commands too to see if you can determine when it happened (and even who did it) and what they changed.

After you have got your site working again I'd suggest that you increase your password to 30 characters (random) and install additional security measures (such as Akeeba Admin Tools Pro).

      Regards, Mark.
