    SOLVED RokGallery Dissappeared

Posted 11 years 10 months ago
    • I got a call from my client. The RokGallery in the Utility-a position is gone. I'm new to this, but the only thing I can imagine is that I have an expiration date for the gallery that I didn't know existed. I checked the module and the RokGallery and cannot figure it out.

Any ideas? I really need to get this corrected asap.

      Thanks so much guys!

    • Dan,

I pm'd you so that you would have the web address. I am getting 404 errors all over the place. I have no clue what has happened. The site was working just fine two weeks ago. Then I was out for two weeks for a family emergency and now this.

      Did you get the url?

      Thanks,
      Donna

    • Dan,

I'm pretty desperate at this point. If this looks like more trouble then it is worth, just let me know and I'll reinstall the site with my most recent backup. I'm just worried though, that if I don't know what caused it, then I don't know how to prevent it from happening again. www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?f=15...2837&rb_v=viewtopic#

      Thanks,
      Donna

The two issues may be tied together. I can CSS your 1st slice back in but the arrow navigation JS isn't functional.
Before attempting a restore, check your folder permissions here:
Admin -> Site -> System Information -> Directory Permissions to ensure they're writeable.
They should look EXACTLY like this:
This image is hidden for guests.
Please log in or register to see it.

After the restore, post back here with your results.

      DanG,

I also just realized that my links appear like this: www.hydco.com/index.php/about-hydco

      Instead of this: www.hydco.com/about-hydco

Could this be the problem? If so, how do I correct this?

      Thanks,
      Donna
You don't have to correct as this is normal Joomla behaviour. If you want it removed then follow these steps:
      1.Admin -> Global Configuration -> SEO settings
2.Click YES for the following two radio boxes:
      .a) Search Engine Friendly URLs
      b) Use URL rewriting

      3. Go to your htaccess.txt file at the root of your site and rename the file to .htaccess.
4.Use some sort of text editor (I use Notepad++) to remove the ‘#’ sign before the words ‘RewriteEngine On’

The index.php should now be goen.

    • Just wanted to let you know that my problem is solved. The problem was that I didn't have "live site url" completed in the configuration.php file. Everything is working like a charm now.

The site was working for a while though and I'm not sure why it quit. However, my host server, GoDaddy, advised me that they had a major upgrade the same week and that it probably triggered it.

Thanks for all of you who took time to respond. I don't know how you find the time, but I sure appreciate it!
