Setting Up Google Adsense on Alerion Based Website & Queries

Posted 11 years 9 months ago
    • Hi All,

I am in the midst of setting up Google's Adsense on my Alerion based templated website.

      I have no problem on the normal (per se) website and the ads are all working fine etc, however I had thought how do I serve ads on mobile devices, so looked further in to it and found this;
      Mobile ads
How to find out which markup language to choose

If you're not sure which markup language(s) your website is written in, we suggest contacting your webmaster, or the person who maintains your site. You can also try to identify the markup language by following these steps:

      From Chrome:

Open a new browser window, and enter your mobile web address.
If Chrome downloads a file, or if you see a pop-up that asks you to download a file with 'wml' in the title, your site is written in WML.
If you can access your site in Chrome, right-click anywhere on the main page, and select 'View Page Source' to review the source code.
If the source code starts with '<?xml...,' your site is written in XHTML.
If the source code starts with '<!DOCTYPE HTML...,' your site is written in CHTML or HTML.

      From Firefox:

Open a new browser window, and enter your mobile web address.
If you see a pop-up that says: 'You have chosen to open xxx which is a: ___.wml,' your site is written in WML.
If you can access your site in Firefox, right-click anywhere on the main page, and select 'View Page Source' to review the source code.
If the source code starts with '<?xml...,' your site is written in XHTML.
If the source code starts with '<!DOCTYPE HTML...,' your site is written in CHTML or HTML.

      From Internet Explorer:

Open a new browser window, and enter your mobile web address.
If you see a pop-up that asks you to download a file with 'wml' in the title, your site is written in WML.
If you can access your site in IE, right-click anywhere on the main page, and select 'View Source' to review the source code.
If the source code starts with '<?xml...,' your site is written in XHTML.
If the source code starts with '<!DOCTYPE HTML...,' your site is written in CHTML or HTML.

Sometimes, multiple versions of mobile websites are created, each written in a different markup language. Depending on how your mobile website was created, and how many markup languages it's available in, your site might automatically detect the compatible markup language for a user's mobile browser. Sites that detect markup languages will automatically serve the correct version of your site. If different versions of your mobile website exist in multiple markup languages, make sure that you select each language that your site supports.

Please also bear in mind that if your mobile website exists in several different markup languages, you'll need to generate new AdSense for mobile code for each version of your website.

However, as I am using a "Responsive" RT template, I am unsure having never faced this kind of query before... is there a way to find out which kind of markup language my alerion based site uses whilst people visit our site on a mobile device?

Any help or guidance in this mattter would be much appreciated.
