including secure content and maintaining the lock

Posted 17 years 11 months ago
    • Not really a template question (or maybe it is), but has anyone been able to include a SSL page into their template and maintain the lock in the browser? This is a big issue for taking orders on your site.

At first I thought that I could just install Joomla and the template on the secure site but that doesn't work either because all of the links and menu items then point to the secure site and become broken. The only other way I can think to do this is to mock out the template on the secure site to match the main site and to make sure that the links work properly. At the same time to allow the url to be the https:// address for the secure content.

      Any thoughts?

    • You should be able to accomplish this. Just make sure that all images/links/etc. are linked locally. You cannot have any links outside your site root or any links to images not in site root. Hope this helps and makes sense.
