Hi, I have a question to a thread that is actually solved (an from another user). How should I handle this? Open a new thread or answer to the old one?

solved threads are mainly used for finding an answer but if you have an issue that is similar or even the same yet that thread does not really solve it for you then you should start a new one to provide you a better chance of getting a response in a decent time frame. You can refer to another thread to let us know that you have seen that thread but it did not quite do the trick fro you. This will ensure that we do not refer you to that link, that could be frustrating
