SOLVED Looking for quick opinion on swapping templates

Posted 11 years 5 months ago
    • Hi all! I have never swapped out a template for another. Scale of 1-10, how difficult is it? Any potential pit-falls I should be aware of?

      Thanks all!

    • Just install new template and make it default (and maybe create new overrides too) - it isn't that hard if you are going from one RT template to another as most module positions will be the same - what will change is your content will most likely need editing. It's also harder if you are going from fixed template to responsive template since again you will need to edit your content.

Best thing to do is copy your existing site using akeeba backup and restore it on a staging server using akeeba kickstart - then try it out for yourself.

      Regards, Mark.
