    • I'm creating a website for a local College. The college has 11 different sports teams. Each article for a certain team needs to appear at two different locations...first on the main page (feature slider) and then again on the category page.

My problem is that, when I click on the article from the category page, the article appears at the bottom of the category page. I need the article to load in a separate page just showing the article and nothing else.

      Example:
I've created a menu item that directs me to the Category Page. When clicking on the Category Page, it then lists the latest three article associated with that category.

      athletics.salemu.edu .

Click on any article on the main page and it sends you to the article. Hover over Women's Sports and then click on Basketball. This is the Women's Basketball Home Page. Try to click on an article and it shows the article at the bottom of the page. This can be confusing to the readers of the page.

Right now, I have the roksprocket module on the women's page set up to show article containing the alias "wbb" for "women's basketball".

    • This is actually a normal Joomla behavior. For pages that doesn't have assigned Itemid (every page dynamically generated which doesn't have menu item defined) Joomla will show modules assigned to the default Itemid (which is usually Home page of the site)

Search google how to overcome this behavior or try this

      Create a hidden MENU.
Put a MENU ITEM in it for each (single) article you want on separate page (publish)

No need to put a hidden menu anywhere - it will never be seen

Now Joomla will open the articles in a separate page.

You can also take a look at Advanced Module Manager by nonumber.nl as a possible solution to this issue
