    SOLVED Menu Item: external URL problem

    • Hello:

      I have a menu item set as an external URL. The link for the external URL is set to a .pdf file uploaded to Media Manager.

      It worked when I did it. Now when I returned today. It is not working, giving a 404 error.

      I would attempt to just redo the Menu Item, but don't recall exactly how to identify the link for the .pdf within Media Manager.

    • Could you please post a URL to your site (this can be done in the secure area tab if you prefer) so we can look for you. Without a link to page where the problem is on your site it is quite hard for us to provide the best solution due to so many variables. We try to provide file names and line numbers for code changes and if changes have already been made then our advice may be incorrect.

    • It is now working. I am not clear on what I did to resolve.

      Can you tell me a more efficient way of finding the link to files in Media Manager. The way I go about it now, is to access the link by linking words within an article. Then cut from the link window, then paste into the menu item.

    • If you know the path to your file your should be able to type the link address directly - no need to look anything up.
