module positions in sidebar

    • one of my websites currently runs on joomla 1.5. I want to give the website a new look with a rockettheme template but have a problem with the module positions. The template that's used (sportline, see module positions in the attachment) has some special module positions in the sidebar: one in the width of the sidebar (advert2), then two next to each other (left, right) and then again one in the sidebar width (advert3).
Is it possible to recreate this kind of module positions in a rockettheme template?

      thanks,
      Sander

    • YES.
Above the Mainbody-Sidebar module position's (Advert 2) you would use "module position-a" and "module position-b" set with the Gantry layout sliders so that "module position-b" is the same width as your sidebar modules.
Advert 3 is easy since any modules added to the sidebar module position will not exceed the width of the sidebar no matter how far down the page you go.

    • hi Dan, thanks for answering. I'm very glad that it's possible.
but I don't understand how I have to do it.
do I have to enable sidebar A and B, or is it all in one sidebar.

Okay go load up this page of our latest template Anacron -> demo.rockettheme.com/live/joomla/anacron...res/module-positions

For the Sidebar you can have up to 1 to 3 module position's horizontally -> sidebar-A, sidebar-B, sidebar-C.
You can also have as many vertical module position's as you wish in a sidebar. So if you published 6 modules to sidebar-A you would see this:
      sidebar-A...........sidebar-B...........sidebar-C
      1...........................EMPTY..............EMPTY
      2
      3
      4
      5
      6

      Does this help?

    • hi Dan,
i've installed anacron with some modules in the sidebar:
      anacron.denieuweviking.nl/
I want 24/7 (sidebar A) to have the width of the sidebar,
then two modules half the width of the sidebar and finally the last module again in the width of the sidebar.

I'm doing something wrong but don't know what.
can I pm you login details so that you can take a look?

      thanks for the help,
      Sander
