I've been looking everywhere for something that suits my agency with a smart staff directory on our webpage.
Here is an example of what I'm looking for. www.neh.gov/about/staff
Really what I need is a searchable directory and a sortable directory. I want to sort by department and alphabetically. Seems easy enough, but it seems like Joomla only does searchable (by name which is annoying) OR it allows you to do a sortable list of names when you do a "featured list".
Anyone have a good solution for this? Links would be helpful.
Example:
Search: Tech
Result: John Doe Technological Genius This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
Jack Frost Technology Director This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
Next step: Sort by department
Another example:
Search: Do
Result: John Doe Technological Genius This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Hi there,
Have you considered some of the directory extensions? Here is a classic one that can be customised if you know what you are doing - demo.sobi.pro/members - There is a live site using that extension here - southdevonandtorbayccg.nhs.uk/index.php/...ipro/?sid=1&Itemid=0
There are others - check out the extensions directory at extensions.joomla.org

I have struggled with this sobi extension for days and it is very hard to work with. Do you know of any others? or Is there a way to modify the joomla one?
