  • SOLVED SEF Components

    • Hi,
      I´m starting a new site and I´m thinking on buying a SEF component. I´ve seen a lot of bad reviews for Joomsef and sh404SEF. Would you recommend them? I´m doing an ecommerce site with kunena and jomsocial.

    • I don't recommend... I could go on a rant, but I won't... I've never seen the value in either of those plugins for the hassle they create

      the critical on-site steps any good SEO should undertake can easily be done manually within Joomla and Joomla's out of the box URL rewriting is plenty good IMHO (which is where the argument usually starts). I've ranked plenty Joomla sites and the only "SEO" plugin I ever use is JSitemap to generate an XML sitemap dynamically.

      If everyone could rank a site with a plugin then Google's not really doing their job... which is why I've never found much use in many SEO Plugins... the ONLY one I've ever liked, and actually use, is Yoast for Wordpress, now just called "Wordpress SEO"... but I only use WP if a client requests, so there ya go.

    • hrm, I dunno how the secure thingee works... mods can def see it and when I toggled it on that thread reply it said then, and now, that you (because you're the OP I guess?) can see it... new buttons are new, will email
