I was creating a menu item that links to an installed component. However, only the components that came with Joomla installations are given as choices when creating the menu. I've installed many components I would like to use as a link but these are not shown to pick from.
What do I need to do or that I've failed to do as a precursor. Thx for your help.

I think I solved this. Not exactly sure why it works but it does. I think it is a variation on what you were trying to tell me.
I created a new menu with the menu item type of Users-Login Form and made it hidden. It redirects to my Members menu on succesful login. This fixed the problem.
