- Ok... forgive my frustration, but why do I own a subscription that produces RC products with minor bugs and under-developed ideas I CAN'T USE! Don't get it wrong, Gantry 5 is very promising, but why can't I get a Gantry 4 template that is usable... at least for the next 2-3 months until G5 is on point and not being developed and sold simuntaneously. I use Rockettheme as my #1 template provider for many year and you guys have been the best a web designer could ask for. I have a successful Web Design firm and depend heavily on Rockettheme. Now I have to search for another #1 template provider. I will come back an visit once G5 is production ready.

EDIT: This post is incorrect but left in place for thread continuity
G5 is still on Release Candidate 3.... it is not considered production... but with any major software launch this approach helps greatly in getting the code into the community that cares about it and working through bugs, issues, and usability concerns. It also gives users a longer period of time to see the new system, play with it, and start to get comfortable. G5 is now on Github as well! Huge community there and our Gitter chat is quite active with developers from all over... inside and outside of the RocketTheme space...
So... what Gantry 4 template is giving you an issue? Please raise a thread in the appropriate Template forum and I'm sure we can help you resolve your issue. - Last Edit: 9 years 10 months ago by Matt.

No problems with G4 templates. What I meant was... why am I paying for non-production products for the last 2 months? I am sure you guys are buzzing around the office excited with the roll out of G5, but I just need monthly usable products from Rockettheme. So basically... can I get a new usable G4 template (as opposed to a non-usable G5 template).
I am excited about G5, but I rely heavily on Rockettheme to produce premium templates. To sum it up, sell it to me when it's ready. Don't take my money, produce an unusable product, then expect me to understand that the greatness of its potential is what I should use in place of a working product. How about you credit my account for each month that you roll out a non-production ready RC template?

Hold on here guys, let me clarify some things that are getting miscommunicated.
First Gantry5 IS READY for production.
Is it 100% bug-free? no. Does it have every feature we want to add? no. However, we are actively working on bug-fixes and continuing to add new features after the initial public RC release. Unfortunately I think this RC numbering has caused people to think that Gantry5 is not ready to be use. We got it to the point where it was stable enough to develop templates on, and we released those as RC versions because we wanted to be clear to our users that there was going to be a continued development where we improve things for G5. Many other companies would of slapped a 1.0 label on that and be done. But using RC naming rather than a final release number is simply a naming convention we decided on. We would never of released our last two designs on G5 if we weren't confident in using it and it being used.
Anyway, there are a few more important bug fixes and a couple of new features we are adding now that will result in an official 5.0 release in the coming days... So stand by for that!

Thanks for the confident reply. I am not one who sits around complaining because my life is empty and void of excitement. Perhaps it's just the new learning curve G5 presents; just as my team and I was spitting out Gantry 4 based web sites like a pitcher in the 9th inning of the World Series. If you say that it is production ready, that is what I need to hear. Everything is buggy, but as long as it's ready for the real world, then we will give it a shot. If your wrong... then we shall to demote you from RT Kahuna to RT Putz.
By the way your pic reminds me of something from the "Leave It To Beaver" era.
I appreciate your insight and thorough explanation.

Thank you for the clarification on my end as well. Clearly I made some poor assumptions about what "release candidate" meant and I'm sorry if I caused any confusion to others with my post as well.
