First let me make one thing clear. I think you guys produce great product, and I have the utmost faith in you.
Having said that, I'm having a hard time lately (last 5 months) considering any of the latest Gantry 5 designs. Each one, for one reason or another, require me to modify more than I'd like. I won't go into specifics, but in each case, I feel like you've made design choices (e.g. logo placement, menu placement, etc.) that are less mainstream, and shove my design into a corner.
I submit here for your consideration a website design that I think represents most of the attributes I'm looking for, and I also feel that these design elements make the template very applicable to a larger number of situations. See King's College - http://www.kings.edu
First, I think the Menu technique is very effective and has great flexibility. It bridges the social with the desktop view, and reduces unnecessary real estate. Everyone knows what that menu icon represents by now. I feel it also eliminates space/text changes that we always seem to run into when you apply the template to a real life situation.
Second, I love the "section slider". It lets the user jump down instead of scroll. This is the first time I've seen this, and while it's not a deal breaker, I think it's a nice touch.
Thirdly, I love the video presentation. It makes things so much more interesting. I know you did it with Lumiere to a small extent, and I don't know if it was problematic, but I'd love to see it more often. The sliding showcase, IMO, is getting old, and trying to get out of my clients pertinent pictures I can use for that area is more difficult than you'd think.
