    Can't find a particle

Posted 9 years 4 months ago
    • I see on the latest demo page a news ticker particle.

But I am trying to create a new module with that particle on a fully updated gantry site but using the isotope template .. so my question is, are particles template specific or gantry specific?

Screenshot attached of what I see when trying to create a new particle.

      Thanks in advance ..

    • The answer is both. Gantry 5 core has some particles that are common to all template (such as MENU and TOTOP). But also there are template specific particles because we don't want to put every conceivable particle into the Gantry 5 core and bloat it unnecessarily.

    • Okay, it's becoming a little more confusing ...

is there a place to download these particles or is there some documentation about how to create these particles?

    • The core Gantry 5 particles come with Gantry 5. The template particles come with the template. So. you download and install Gantry 5 and download and install the template. If you want to copy template specific particles from one template to another then you have to manually do that and create thenm as new custom particles http://docs.gantry.org/gantry5/advanced/creating-a-new-particle .
