Do I need so many templates?

Hallo.
First thing first sorry for my English.
I'm a freelance web dev and I use Joomla with RT templates only for two simple reasons:
- RT offer the best support for people like me (I'm not a programmer...I don't write PHP or JavaScript)
- I can't use other frameworks different from Gantry 5 (i.e. T3) because I don't have the time to learn another framework.
After several years as a regular subscriber I can say that I'm 99,9% satisfied by the RT service. Mainly for the really great support from the Forum Administrators......a big thank-you to all these wonderful people!
In recent times I have worked on two new websites using the new Gantry 5. The learning curve is pretty hard and in summary I have an opinion: Gantry 5 it's really great but OVERLY complicated. Gantry 4 is less powerful and less versatile but it's very logical, easy.....and usable by "non-technical" people.
Anyway G5 is the future and G4 is the past.....so I just hope that the G5 developers don't make this framework even more complicated than now.....it will become a nightmare!
Now back to the title of this thread.
I confess that the RT templates offer is REALLY woderful and sometime it's hard to choose one template over another.
From my point of view I DON'T NEED a new template EVERY MONTH.
I suspect that this is mainly a commercial strategy (for the USA market?) but I'm sure that with a lower number of templates (maybe 6 in a year...?) there will be a better support an testing for each one....and maybe less stress for all the RT Team.
In other words I hope that RT will concentrate on the QUALITY of the offer more than on the QUANTITY.
Am I the only one with this opinion?

If our competitors would stop producing a template per month than maybe some of the positives you mentioned between theme releases would happen for us.
However since they're not we have to compete in the market. We are a small team but some very clever people (not me) make up RocketTheme.
I'm the oldest Mod here and the learning curve for Gantry 5 was about as much fun as going to a heavy-metal rock concert with your girlfreind after three nights of drinking Tequila and sporting a major migraine
However I've persevered through and now have some VERY strong positive views of Gantry 5:
1) Prototyping a new site is quicker for me than in Gantry 4.
2) Article display has no fundamental differences between Gantry 5 and Gantry 4.
3) Particles play two roles. They are a type of module that you create in the Joomla Module Manager screen to use as modules just as in Gantry 4. Particles in the Layout Manager are like "placeholders" that represent a module position or module instance in your Layout. Particle types that can be created in the Joomla Module Manager screen can also be used directly in the Layout Manager without the need for assigning a module position or menu page.
4) Block Variations make site design way quicker for me as I don't have to code all those common stylings used in a site design.
5) the list just continues....
6) oh just remembered! because the Gantry 5 team had the brilliant idea of making Gantry 5 an open project, this has allowed the Joomla community to make significant contributions to the projectThis image is hidden for guests.
