Not only was the day of the month invoked as a "self-imposed deadline," but we also used to know by which clock (i.e., "MST") on which Andy was using to determine whether or not the deadline was met.
(Now I apologize for getting snarky, so I'll refrain from posting any more evidence to the contrary, sir).
4 - 7 years ago? - Ok I guess we will have to differ on this. As I said we do like to release the new template every month as early as we practically can in the month and that will continue as always and we also will try to let people know when we know for a fact we are going to be later than we would have liked. We are well aware that members eagerly anticipate our new templates and will continue to strive to release as early as possible in the month that's the only thing we can commit too.

Sure. "4 - 7 years ago" is included in the assertion that "There has never beena self-imposed deadline of the 1st of the month."
Nonetheless, before we wake up Mr. Miller, this is not a knock on RT for delivering templates later than expected—the templates were much, MUCH less complex back in the "bubblicious" templates days. There are LOTS more moving parts nowadays, so every and any delay in understandable.
I just wanted to set the record straight on your 'never a deadline' assertion, sir. All in fun.
It is semi-ironical that one of the posts mentions how the "self-imposed deadline" wasn't met once, maybe twice in 5 years and today we could flip this around and one could screenshot and post a reason for not meeting it all but once or twice in the last few years (e.g., "It's April 1, the last month's was late, it's the weekend after a holiday weekend, it's leap year, a short month, etc, etc).
Well thank you for your views. I have nothing more to add. I just want to manage expectations that the "1st of the month" every month is an unrealistic expectation and perhaps your screenshots bear this out...
