Profit template use

    • The following phrase in the Terms and Conditions had me scratching my head for quite a while because it is not as clear as it intends to be:

"For example, a 3 month membership entitles you to use any RocketTheme template on a maximum of 2 sites."

The problem is the word 'any' because it is possible to interpret it as meaning that you can deploy each and every one of the templates as long as you don't use any single one on more than on two sites. May I suggest that it would be clearer if the wording were changed to:

"For example, a 3 month membership entitles you to choose up to two RocketTheme templates from the whole range to use on a maximum of 2 sites."

You could also change the phrase that triggered this topic:

"If you wish to use a template for a non-profit site, they do not count against your maximumn concurrent template usages."

      to

"Templates used for a non-profit (charity organization) sites, do not count against your maximum concurrent template usages."

BTW 'maximum' is currently spelled incorrectly.

      Hope this helps.

    • Sorry, last suggestion should read:

"Templates used for non-profit (charity organization) sites do not count against your maximum concurrent template usages."

    • Or actually, as I now re-read the original confusing 'any' text on the T&Cs, does it mean that you can only use ONE template on two sites? If so, 'any' definitely needs changing, and my revised suggestion becomes:

"For example, a 3 month membership entitles you to choose 1 of the RocketTheme templates from the whole range, to use on a maximum of 2 sites."

If that is so, the main advantage of buying a RocketTheme license over buying one-off templates from other suppliers is that you can download and experiment with a number of templates to get the look and functions you want before commiting yourself to one on a site - or am I still confused?

    • Steve,

You are really reading too much into all of it.

3 month membership you can use the templates on 2 sites (domains)

1 year membership you can use the templates on 3 sites (domains)
You can download and experiment with a number of templates to get the look and functions you want before committing yourself to one on a site

That is correct! Also, you are welcome to join the many people that make the mad dash to change to the newest template each month.

    • Hi Joe,

Thanks, but I wish it was expressed as simply as you put it.

The problem (from RT's point of view) is that the T&Cs are the last thing people read before they sign up. Anything which causes them to stop reading to try and figure out the meaning - as I did - means that they have stopped moving down the 'sales funnel' and that gives time for any other doubts they may have about getting their credit card out to surface. Then they decide to click away and before you know it a sale has been lost.

      Still, not my problem :)
