    Fonts Loading Slowly

    • Our site is using the Ethereal theme. In the Font Families area of the Style tab, we have the following fonts:
      Body - asap, Helvetica, Tahoma, Geneva, Arial, sans-serif
      Title - poly, Helvetica, Tahoma, Geneva, Arial, sans-serif
      Promo - aguafinascript, Helvetica, Tahoma, Geneva, Arial, sans-serif

      When loading a page on the site, the entire page loads first except for the text, then the text loads after a delay. When removing the web fonts and only using the standard web-safe fonts, this issue doesn't occur and the text loads normally.

      Is there any way to improve upon this, where there isn't such a delay when loading in the web fonts via @font-face ?

    • Those other fonts are google fonts and they're being downloaded from google - so no you can't really speed that up. What you can do is turn "conservative" caching on in global config, and gzip compression, and consider using a compressor such as "rokbooster" or "jch_optimize" to help speed up the loading of your own resources.

      Also, you can hide the page until the whole set of resources have loaded... https://www.rockettheme.com/forum/gantry5-for-joomla/274668-how-to-make-pages-fade-in-on-load-in-gantry-5 .
