    • How do you create a button from scratch that has some drop-down buttoms? I've got a bit stuck because when you create the first button, you've got to link it to something. Is there any way of creating a null link so that when you click on the first parent button, it doesn't go anywhere?

    • You can insert the following in the main menu item link to create a null link:
      #

Having said that, I far prefer to create a static content page and link to that.

Say for example the main menu item is "Contact Us" and the sub-menu items are "Contact a Publisher" and "Contact the Administrator"; I would create a static content item that said something like:
      Please choose a contact person:
      Contact a Publisher <link
      Contact the Administrator <link
      /static content

I would then link the static content item to the main menu item.

I hope that this makes sense and helps somewhat.

    • Actually, I have decided to do it differently, this is before I saw your e-mail, oh well, I'll try it my way first. I created a drop-down via a content item and linked it to a page I had created (that's the only way I could create the new button) however, what I have done is put all the links on the page that correspond to the drop-down links that are on the parent button. In the past, I have had people not realising that you click on the drop-down is, at least if they go to a page they have still got the links. I have noticed that on all the demos, you can click on the main parent button and it takes you to another page.

    • There's another option for creating absolute "Null-Links": Separator ;)
The Separator is meant to provide spacing, but you can also have it show Text and it won't have a Link applied to it and you can apply Submenus to it - for an Example check the "Info"-Dropdown at www.overdose.at - "Info" is actually a Separator with Chield-Items applied.

    • I have got another problem somebody else may appeal to help me with. When you are creating new page, after you've created a section and category, you go to content by section and choose a section you just created. I want to go to news so I can create some links. Problem is, I've got so many items listed, the news is at the bottom and I don't know how to reach it. I really need a monitor that is 6 inches higher. Does anybody know how I can get to the bottom of this list?

Sorry pal, I don't understand your problem - could you perhaps provide a screenshot or a graphic of the problem?
Also, is this J1.x or J1.5?

    • Okay, I have included a screenshot. You'll see the drop down I'm talking about is surrounded by a rather wonky red border. You'll see that it goes straight to the bottom of the page, I can't get anything below this unless I start deleting which I might have to do, luckily I don't needs a lot of them many more. However, if there is a way of getting to the bottom without the meeting, it would be handy to know
