How Do I implement SCRIBD's Ipaper viewer within Joomla?

  • How Do I implement SCRIBD's Ipaper viewer within Joomla?

    • So...my creative client now wants a new requirement. :( She wants me to convert a lot of her PDF's to "FlipBooks", which she says is the "rage" in the seminar world.

Anyway....converting and creating Ipaper documents hosted by SCRIBD.COM is simple enough. Take a look at mine for example: www.scribd.com/doc/3117851/2008-Community-Impact-Report

But she wants more than that. If you click down on the little down arrow near Ipaper, and choose View Mode/Book Mode, you will notice that the pages flip like a book. This is what she wants.

I've found through my research that I can't just include the parameter in a URL to the document (I think), and instead have to embed the document in a page. There are several ways, but it appears the only way to control the "flipbook" parameter is using the Javascript API ( www.scribd.com/platform/documentation/viewer ).

Fooling around with this, I could never get it to display. It's probably my lack of knowledge on how to implement properly Javascript within this template (in my case, HiveMind).

      Any ideas???

    • In case anyone's still looking for the answer to this, what you need to do is go into the document settings on Scribd. Click on the edit button for the document. Choose Display Properties and set the default there. When I did it in the embed code, it didn't work, but when I changed it there it did.

    • Not sure if anyone can help on this, but im trying to do the same. I can easily embed the scribd document in flash on my website. Has anyone experience with embedding it as HTML5?

I've set my text filters but joomla keeps shredding the supplied html5 embed code when I paste it into an article.

I've looked at their javascript API but can't see how to implement this into Joomla

Some help would be really grateful!

      Thanks

      Jethro
