The monthly hoopla got silly after the first couple of times, and that has been emphasized by today's embarrassingly childish slap-fight.
It might reduce the 'goober factor' if the new themes were released on an unspecified date during each month. Then again, we might get some folks posting 'is it here yet?' comments every hour, for 30 days. :cheesy:

This thread (for the most part) has been amusing and a source of fun. Inevitably, someone wanders in and tries to use it as a platform for a rant or sad attempt at manipulating RT. Easily dismissed, then ignored.
The recent childish and foul-mouthed display is of a different category and -- in my mind at least -- unacceptable in a venue where we have genuine expectations of adult behavior. Moderation might be in order, but why waste the RT Team's time better spent elsewhere?
Let's hope things improve; otherwise we find that one day the thread comes to an ignominious end. - Sharon Sinéad Gaughan

Here's my theory: RT spends their time developing and producing (productive) rather than responding to uncontrollable outbursts by those who lack social skills or reasonable courtesy for others. But WE are a happy lot around here and won't let that distract us from our "CANDY DAY!"
I, for one, enjoy all this revelry and it's Christmas 12 times a year. So everyone say a hearty "Ho, Ho, Ho" and we'll get our next treat soon. :cheesy:
