    • We did do a facebook post too about the delay... https://www.facebook.com/RocketTheme everyone's working very hard to get the template out.

      Thanks for your continued patience.

      Regards, Mark.

And what if it isn't one you can use? You waited 8 days. If you have a project waiting on a new template you haven't seen yet, and it is so urgent, then certainly you wouldn't be waiting 8 days "just in case". That's just a fabricated excuse to demand a new template, IMO. Making stuff up like that isn't going to make the template come any faster, is it?

People are betrayed because they were used the template was out first or second day in the month the latest. But it is delayed for about 10 days for the last few months.

Cannot be a problem if I know there is a delay to write that it will be out for example 10th in the month and for example show picture (when RT knows it will be delayed) how the template will look like as for example Joomlart does it.

Sorry, but I do not like people who think they no better then I know why I need a new template. You know nothing about it.
I have been waiting for 9 days today I have already been waiting for few months. I need template with parallax and few another things and RT has no such template. So I hope a bit this could be it that is way I am waiting.

I am not a web designer. I need template for my own use.

    • A little history while we wait and a sideline for new members:

Some of us old timers will complain and kick up our heels once in awhile when the template is more than a few days late. This was evidenced by my own embarassing displays of impatience the last couple of months. This by no means indicates we are unhappy with RT or their development team. It simply means we are impatient and we are used to instant gratification.

Here's the bottom line. I've been here for many years and the reasons would fill out a nice brochure for RT. We were all spoiled by getting templates on the first of the month for a very long time. This was and still is one of the hallmarks of RT's reputation as a professional provider.

Fortunately (for me anyway), some of us have been around long enough to remember the growing pains with all the innovative templates they were producing. Each template brings a learning curve due to customized settings and styles.

Then Gantry 4 was introduced. It was a learning curve for the team as well as the members and we all came through it fine. After a few months of teaching us how it all worked, we all settled in to uninterrupted templates again. Now we have a newer, improved product to learn. The same frustrations and growing pains are nothing more than history repeating itself.

It is best to remember the latest version of Joomla was a major overhaul and caused many months of work on the project board for every developer on the planet. Each update brought more work and bugs to fix as the results of said upgrades filtered down to the extension and template providers. The production flow for every 3rd party provider was interrupted globally.

Once a new template passes the muster with Joomla and is released, the team spends a great deal of time answering questions and helping us customize them far beyond the call of duty or obligation, in additon to working on the next template for the next month. I have also noticed a fall in members helping members of late, possibly due to the learning curve for Gantry 5. That puts even more pressure on the staff.

I may be upset when the template isn't out within the first 3 days but that frustration is countered by the fact I appreciate the Team's efforts to develop templates with as few bugs as possible. I don't want to download an inferior product and I have no doubts that, if there is a delay, we will benefit in the long run.

Further, we won't be in the forums downgrading their quality work because they pushed out something that wasn't ready for primetime because the kiddies didn't get their candy on time. IF we were all capable of producing the same quality templates, we wouldn't be here so it's best to be humble on occasion and give the team their due.

Putting out a template is more than just making things look pretty, which is WHY most of us are here. Even though I pay for the food that keeps me going, I won't bite the hand that's feeding me that food because it's late. It tastes too good and I don't want it to stop.

Like a good little doggie, I'll sit here with my sad doggie eyes waggin' my tail in anticipation for the moment they hand me my treat. It may be late but I know it's coming and I'll love them just the same late or not.

I, for one, do not feel betrayed. I'm just impatient and anxious... and I want my candy yesterday.... as always LOL

I don't care what reasons you have. You haven't been 'betrayed'.

There has been a rep on the forums every day, letting people know the template is still on the way but ran into issues. So you didn't get a screenshot of the new template. Big deal. A screenshot won't give you any info on your paralax issue anyways. If you are waiting to build your website until the perfect template comes along, that's your problem. You still aren't betrayed and nobody has broken a promise to you. The fact that they HAVE been giving templates on the 1st(meaning they went above and beyond), doesn't mean they are required to do so every month. You can't punish a company for meeting its deadlines just because they have gone above and beyond in the past. That's ridiculous.

If you've been waiting for months for a new template, 10 more days won't kill you. You seem to be assuming that after all these months, they will all of a sudden give you exactly what you need, and the fact that you had to wait an extra 10 days to get it means you are somehow owed an explanation beyond what has been given. You are not.

    • I am not feeling betrayed, just sad, for now, and until the new template arrives. :(

But at the same time I'm very happy with the efforts of core team in the amazing Gantry 5 and the amazingly spectacular and fabulous GRAV CMS. :)

To be honest, I've seen this kind of ups and downs in RT templates before, I've been a member since 1997. Most times it happens when the core team is developing new things, but dont get me wrong, this brings benefit to all of us, I'm sure. Development is what keeps RT on the head.

    • The last template was very weak. I hope that this will be better.

Gantry 5 is a very good framework. Huge customization. It is a pity that the templates are very similar to each other. Identical menu. Identical module styles.

I'm happy with the development of the gantry 5. It is only now beginning to understand it.

I hope that soon the templates again will be issued 1 day of the month.

    • Hello all,

Just for the record here are a few points to bear in mind...
      1. No staff - paid or volunteer - are allowed to even mention a template name before its release, on pain of death!
      2. We have never, and I personally suspect, will never give previews of templates.

Frustration I can understand but betrayed is rather harsh so I suspect it is a language thing rather than truly betrayed. ;)

I have said this many times - RocketTheme templates are so versatile you can do almost anything with them, especially with Gantry 5. If you are waiting for an off-the-shelf template to solve all your web needs then you will most likely be disappointed. In all my years with RT I have never had a template that fitted my specific needs 100%. It was always a compromise.

A template is often just a starting point and it is inevitable it will need tweaking to suit client needs. If that were not the case then the forums would be dead.

My personal opinion is that the new template will be very popular.

      Thanks for your patience 8)
