Using GoDaddy service with a non-RT, 3rd party template already installed and operational.
However:
1. RT Terra Tribune has been downloaded and transferred via Filezilla to my Joomla site Templates file, but the Administrator-Template view doesn't show it as installed. What step am I missing?
2. Also, downloaded Chromatophore, but Joomla installation refuses to upload it. "Unknown archive type", etc., etc. When Joomla refuses to accept the entire zip or tgz file, is there a single file it WILL accept to trigger the entire installation?
3. Sometimes get this message: Warning: file_put_contents(/tmp/) [function.file-put-contents]: failed to open stream: Is a directory in /home/content/g/e/m/gemseeker/html/libraries/joomla/filesystem/file.php on line 297
4. Other times: "unable to find XML file in zip download."
Help me get this rocket off the launchpad!

Most of the times this is because you are trying to install replicant2-extensions-j15.zip (or similar package) but this is not installable. It is just an ordinary zip package which has the installable zips inside. Therefore, you have to unzip it first then upload the subsequent files through the installer (as per demo instruction).
Similarly, RocketLauncher is not installable so don't try to install that. - Please reply with a direct link to the issue & create a new thread for each new issue.

I'd already tried unzipping it all the way, and no dice.
The tutorial is just telling me how to install, which I already know, have been usuing joomla for about 2 years now.
I have the entire rocketlauncher chromatophore new install on another server (I'm using it as a test bed, to figure out how I will implement everything into my current site), and everything is working fine. It's only when I try to install just the chromatophore template on my current site, that I have problems. - Last Edit: 16 years 6 months ago by .
