Menu item but not published???

    • I don't know how to word this question. I hope I can get my point across.

I know you need to make something a menu item in order to publish modules and such to it. Right? Well, for instance I have an article link in my Rotator and when you go to that one article, I would like to be able to add some modules on that page. But I don't want to have every article show up on my menu bar. Can you make something a menu item so you can add modules to it but not publish it to the menu? or somehow not have it show on the menu?

Does anyone understand what I mean? LOL

    • Thanks, JEM618!
I'm not sure if we're talking about the samet thing. I'm having a hard time describing what I need well.

Okay. I have "Article A" as a single article that is linked to from the main menu. I have some modules published to that menu item article in my Media Mogul right column and all is swell.

Now, I have "Article B" and I don't necessarily want it linked to on the main menu. But I do want to publish modules on the page (again, the Media Mogul right column) that displays "Article B".....something just like how I have the "Article A" page.

But I can't publish modules to something that isn't on the main menu, right?

    • There's a link to a test site that has what I described above.

You can create a menu as you normally would and assign modules to it.

Then publish your 'Article B' to it.

Open that menu item and get the url info, then unpublish the menu.

Create your link to the your 'Article B' in a module, or another article.

When a user follows the link to 'Article B', the hidden menu with 'Article B' and the modules you assigned to it will open.
    • Thanks,

    • This is the only thing I miss about DNN...were able to click 'new page,' add a real page, shows the module positions, and literally drop and drag the modules you want on the page to the respective positions...only thing I miss, though. ;)
