Linking in Menus

    • Ok, sorry if this has been asked, but I can't seem to find the answer. I have been playing around in Joomla using the hivemind template and I am trying to figure out how to link from a menu to an article. I thought I did it right, but when I go to Preview to test the link the URL ends like this: "/index.php/basic-principles-of-sound-isolation". The page just reloads with the front page...

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

      Sorry for the newbie question...

    • Try turning off SEF.

    • That definitely worked... Thanks!

So now am I not able to have search engine friendly URLs?

    • You should be able to have SEF enabled if you configure it correctly :)

I personally wouldn't use it while developing the site though.
